HURRICANE KATRINA/RITA –
LEARNING OPPORTUNITY SEVEN:
DO I JUDGE PEOPLE I'M WORKING WITH?
As you experiment with other people to see if, in co-creation, you can find innovative ways that are meaningful and helpful to support to the people from the Gulf Coast (and your neighbors and your families) who are suffering, observe your interactions. Are you able to be fully present with the person or people you are with? That means are you able to see them as they are as much as possible without thinking or feeling that they are superior to you or more creative, or that they are inferior to you or less creative, and without looking for them to provide answers or support for your ideas? Can you look at them as individuals who, like you, have their own doubts, their own fears, and their own challenges? Who are struggling with this massive pain that has been projected into their living rooms day after day, and continues, now mixed with scences of war and domestic violence that were temporarily eclipsed by the Hurricanes? Can you see them in their fullness, with their strengths and their weaknesses? Email this page to a friend.
